GDT 6/9/22: Braves vs Pirates - Slippy’s rehab start

The guy who throws an inning of mop up duty last night also gets the 7th inning in a 3-1 game. Makes sense.
 
Love it “the night shift” ….will smith cleaning up the 7th….. then you got Minter ready to go…..
It hasn’t been like this since Johnny Venters and EOF with Kimbrel….

It kinda does if the old saying of “closers don’t like going three days in a row, and don’t like sitting three days in a row” - meaning snot wanted to get him some work last night, he responded well and got right back in there tonight - then he can rest a day tomorrow if possible …. Right ?
 
Looking like Olson's 16% k rate was a fluke. His k rate isn't bad, but no where near as good as last season

Figured we'd struggle offensively after last night. Pitching took up the slack. Braves rounding into form
 
Tied with Giants in WC, 6.5 back of Mets, lot of ball left to be played. 1 back in L column of Giants and Cards.
 
Good to see slippy get a W. Now, it was with Fried and going against the lowly pirates…. And it was a very closes game …. But certainly an early sign of progress.. we gonna need a healthy laser sharp slippy come October….
