GDT #63: BRAVES (Minor) vs. ROCKIES (Nicasio), 100 to go!

The sky really is the limit for Gattis'. But, if he never becomes any better than he currently is he is one hell of a ball player.

well a WRC+ of 146 is really really good. Honestly the only thing holding him back from being truly elite is plate discipline. He strikes out a lot and doesn't walk that much. But when he hits the ball he does it with authority. He has some of the best raw power in the game. I have questions on to how long he can last as a player and especially a catcher. He seems to have old man skills. But hey he's cheap and he's in his prime so I'm going to enjoy him while he's here.

His swing rate has dropped by a good margin this year and he is still doing damage. Teams are going to pitch around him more and more and the walks are going to skyrocket. I think next year he has 60+ walks.

Gattis would hit 40+ homers a year if we had the DH. I would buy out his arby years and maybe 1-2 years of FA. The DH is coming to the NL and we need Gattis to be our DH.

It makes me sick to admit it but you're right. The DH is a candy-assed concept but the NL will convert to it long before the AL ever goes back to having its pitchers hit.

Walt Weiss had the intelligence to replace a pitcher who was getting shelled. It's nice to know our manager doesn't have that problem.
