With 1 out the double play mattered. You don't have to like it, I don't, but that's why Fredi did it.

The speed that breaks up a double play is the batter not the runner at first. I would say Gattis could break up a DP better than Schafer due to his size.

If Hale isn't available along with Kimbrel and Varvaro, then Fredi should be blamed big time for burning Simmons for one batter.

Varvaro coming in, Carpenter velocity is usually regularly 95-96 mph but it was lower than usual last inning and dropped to 91 mph this inning so I thought he must either be tired or hurt. He has warmed up a lot when not pitching too.
