GDT 7/10/21: Braves @ Fish - Top Offensive Lineup

Personally, I’m just not watching the game and can’t tell how injured he actually was lol it looked bad on video but that’s not super telling. Bad or not, he’s clearly out past the ASB.

Was at Target and missed the Acuna injury. Leg just go out from underneath him or something else?

Running leaping catch attempt on the warning track, his left foot came down first but not really solid, so most of his weight came down on his right leg. Jammed his knee and stayed down, PT came and moved it around and let him get up and walk about halfway back to the dugout, then he went down again and they got the cart and a wheelchair. I have no doubt that it was painful/alarming, but that sequence is odd to me for a tear. JMO.

Dang, I'm not watching... thought someone in here said he walked off

He started to after the PT examined him but only got like halfway. I would say you'd typically want to take precautions with your franchise player's health if you're unsure of the severity of an injury. All bets are off in Atlanta though.

Could be a meniscus. Not as bad, but would be out weeks instead of months.

After watching it, I agree with you. He didn't really land awkwardly on it that I could tell, and he didn't hyperextend it or anything. Just seemed like he landed hard and maybe on the inside part of his foot - it looked like his ankle bent in some. The knee buckled a bit though. He looked like he was in a LOT of pain. Here's a link to the vid - not sure if we have any docs here on the board that maybe can give an opinion.

I played a football game with a torn ACL.
It’s possible he walked on one lol.
It usually comes down to how much of a tear as to walking or not.
I hope it’s nothing but a hyperextended knee but didn’t look good.
Regardless, if it’s worst case I hope the Braves look into making deals that will benefit us next season and not so much this one as I just don’t think we are good enough to do anything even if we somehow made the playoffs.
This team is treading water with who we have out now, I can’t imagine them without Ronnie doing any better

Acuna cries about everything. He is the biggest drama queen I’ve ever seen in baseball.

I expect to hear reports that it’s a sprain.
