On the radio broadcast, they mentioned it was the plan to give him the series off. So it sounds like dead arm or a mental health break at a minimum. Hopefully not an injury. I was disappointed to see him over used and used in weird situations in the Snitker regime.

No question. Hopefully viz can bounce back before the deadline. Would hate to lose the chance to get something in return for him because Snitker overused him.

He's had a couple stretches where he was just throwing batting practice and that has got to stop. For me, he needs to have a more consistent second half to lock down a 2017 rotation spot. I think he's got a good chance to pull it off.

He's been decent-to-good lately, so I think he can do it.

I would say that's his floor right now. If he can learn to dial the FB down so he can make it move and command it, he will do very well. He still has the uber gas to bring when he needs the high cheese K. I have noticed that when he lowers his velocity a tick, he transforms into a much better pitcher.

Absolutely. When he pitches and doesn't try to blow people away, he's so good.

I know Smoltz is Announcer for FOX, but is there anyway we can hire him on the side as a Special Assistant to the GM to mentor Folty?
