They beat who they're supposed to beat. Now imagine if machado and Britton get added... they'll be supposed to beat even more teams.

Not sure they have the system for both.

The question would be, would Machado re-sign with Philly. Supposedly he has his eyes on NYY in free agency but could pull a PG and stay if he did well in Philly and they made the playoffs, etc, maybe won a series.

But im not even sure what they could offer to get him if Sixto isnt on the table.

For once, I'd just love to see how the sabermetric lineup would work. That won't happen under Snitker unless AA just takes over.

I know lineup construction doesn't mean a whole lot in terms of winning and losing, but I'd still like to see:

Markakis-Freeman-Albies-Acuna-Catcher-Camargo-Swanson-Pitcher-Inciarte

Markakis, FF, Albies, Acuna would be my top 4, after that is tbd.

There is no magic bullet that will make the Braves suddenly start winning again. Yes, batting Markakis lead off is the correct answer, but it’s not such a huge improvement that it will dramatically change the offense.

Getting someone like Asdrubel to play 3b and bat 4th might allow Snit to move Markakis up.

The Braves are a good but not great team. They will start winning again.

Outisde of the issues faced by Gohara and Soroka, this year has already been a success.

It's pretty bad when the TV guys are saying it's time for a change in the leadoff spot. Inciarte could absolutely kill it in the 2nd half but you don't go around counting on that, at the very least, kick him out of leadoff and move him to #9 and move everyone up a spot. If you still want to badly make it work, please do it like you did it in 2016, make him prove it for close to 20 games, don't make it to where "guy's been hot for about a week? back to leadoff you go!"

I mean the halfway point of the season is always before the break but because of the season starting earlier, these are important games. Lineup construction likely doesn't cost you more than 1 or 2 games, but throwing it away because you're trying to push Inciarte at leadoff is silly.
