GDT 7/13/24: Braves @ Padres - A Fox Game

One of the huge problems for us vs rhp is this...

Olson vs lhp - 137 wrc+
Olson vs rhp - 83 wrc+

I don't watch that much given where I live, but I did watch the national telecast on the 4th of July and Olson was really having trouble with breaking balls from the RHP on the mound. He swung and missed badly at a couple of pitches that were way out of the strike zone. That's a really miniscule sample size, but Olson does have some pretty big holes in his swing. It doesn't surprisde me that much that he's doing well against LHP because he's always had the ability to go the other way and if he gets it in the air, he can hit it out to the opposite field. I just think the thing with Olson is he's not being paid to be a contact hitter. You can put up with his negatives if he is tattooing the ball with some regularity. Other thing I noticed about his statistical line this season is that his walk rate is down a bit. Again, could be a blip, but something to watch.

Five days off and he may come out ripping for the last 70 games.
