GDT 7-19: Marcell Rides the Pine Again

A loss like this should end any dreams of a miracle run to October. It’s just not enough arms with the injuries to Sale, Schwellenbach, Lopez, AJSS, and even Jimenez. If the offense gives you nine runs, no way you should lose. The pen was awful tonight and is the reason they lost.
 
And unless you trade Murphy, likely not going to get much back. Not even for Ozuna. Maybe in one of those deals, the Braves can get the same fortune like they did in the Doyle Alexander trade of 1987.
 
The only trade piece we have that anyone would be at all interested in is Murphy. I'm not sure we find a team willing to spend a roster spot on the likes of Iglesias. Honestly we shouldn't be spending a roster spot on him either.

An upside-down game. I think most thought Wentz would struggle and the pen would have to do some heavy lifting to win the game. Instead, the pen brought the "heavy water" that combined with the Yankee bats to create a nuclear explosion. Bummer and Iglesias doing a great job pimping their trade value.
