GDT 7/23 - Strider and the Business Man’s Special

I feel like I'm at a place now where I'm cheering for them to lose.

So that's not fun.

Absolutely pathetic to be in this spot in a prime contention window. Heads should roll...

Man, you guys forget quickly... i said he wasn't pitching well today, and you argued. FIP for this game is important in that argument
LOL, dude that isn't how FIP works.

There a lot of things to point to about how well Strider did or didn't pitch today. Using FIP ain't it.

Whether I use ERa, bb9, whip, or FIP, it all supports you being completely wrong.

Today's FIP will be a part of the series of FIP samples (games) that paint a picture of his performance this season. FIP of a single game is a horrible sample to judge a pitcher, but it's fine to judge a pitcher for that day

Was driving after a dentist appointment and was listening to the game. There was one good thing today. If you have listened to any of their games, you know they have the things like the home run inning. They have had a contest which someone would win a sports UTV if the Braves struck out the side in the eighth inning. They finally had a winner today for the first time this season.

Other than that, blah

I’m not cheering for them to lose. But at the same time, it’s not real exciting when they win at this time.
I'm cheering for what's best for the team going forward. Obviously no one wants to lose. But the losses don't hurt as bad when you known your team doesn't have anyone to play for.

At this point, I just want to see our players who will be here in 2026 do well. Individually, I want to see Harris and Ozzie get back on track. Their recent performances have been encouraging overall. Hopefully they both will keep building off of that. I want to see Drake continue to rake and lock up ROTY. I want to Strider continue to improve, build arm strength, and get more comfortable every outing.

And ideally, I want to see several young players get an opportunity to see what they got going into to 2026. Waldrep, Ritchie, Fuentes again, Lara in the pen, a few others. I know they creates a bit of a clog on the 40 man so maybe that isn't feasible. But I would try to get a good look at as many young prospects as you can.
