GDT 7/25/14: Braves (Wood) host retooled Padres

I haven't panicked up to this point because I've always said that we have time to right the ship, or just wait the hot streak is coming. It's almost the trade deadline, Washington is playing up to its potential finally and I see no evidence that this offense is good enough to go on a 20-6 or something run. Maybe we should try to unload some of the dead wood and rethink this offense in the offseason
 
it would be pretty stupid to trade good prospects so this team could win a few more games this year. They're notgood enough to mortgage the future for.

Respect or not, in 110 ab in the 7 spot in the order he is hitting .373 with a .921 OPS. He has 10 hits in 71 ab in the other spots, 4 for 46 in the 1st or 2nd spots. Why on Earth is he hitting anywhere else? Part of a manager's job is to put his players in the best position to succeed. This is the exact type of managing by Fredi that causes people to gnash their teeth. Put him in at 7 and leave him there. The team had a long winning streak with him there after Fredi moved him from lead off. Why make the change, and even more so continue to do so even as it fails miserably?

This is silly..

Right now, if the season ended today, we are a playoff team. Of course if we can add a good bat we do it. There are 2 teams that haven't been to the playoffs in 20 years. 4 that haven't been in double digit years. 11 That haven't been in this decade. You don't take playoff trips for granted and you don't become sellers when you are currently "IN."

Lest we forget the 83 Win Cardinals won a title in 2006 and the 90 win Cards won another in 2011.
 
Uh yea that is a strike you big white fckn teddy bear. What other pitch did you think you were getting? You can't hit a curveball so therefore you will see a curveball! Have a fckn approach for god sakes!!!!

Yeah, I agree. We need to move him back.
 
It's this simple. Either something needs to be done to fix this offense or time to call it quits because we are going nowhere with what we have now.

We need to go back to the previous lineup we had before Gattis came back. That lineup was scoring. Only difference is that we need to put Gattis in the 8th spot instead of Laird/Bethancourt. Gattis needs to stay in the 8th spot until his bat comes back because right now he's killing us in the 6th spot.
