That’s the case. Because the throw over to third shouldn’t have meant anything. If they say the runner that scores left early, we’ll the second baseman never caught the ball

That's the only thing it could be. if it wasn't a catch, there was a force at second and that's it.

They tagged the base, which is correct on the appeal, which it clearly was. Pitcher stepped off the rubber and threw to third. Red Sox appealed Riley leaving too soon.
