Too many primadonnas, Storen, Harper, Strasburg, pressure on them and they all melt at the same time. Strasburg is a middling pitcher who supposed to be the best in the league (Kershaw laughs at that), Harper according to EASTCOASTPN better than Trout. LMAO. Their announcers said they will overtake the Braves and win easily. Well we aren't playing our best the whole season according to career averages but we managed to tread water for 90 games and have an 8 game lead. If we ever play to our norms we would blow them away.

Strasburg has been really good just hasn't gotten any run support.

ACe pitchers should get shutouts, period. They are paid to stop the other team. You get 2 runs, they get 1 or none, period. THat is how you earn your money and he is not doing it. This is why they are 8 games behind us. What does he have 10 wins? No. Zimmerman is getting lit up like a Xmas tree lately, do you know why? They figure him out, he pitches in the zone and they are crushing his pitchers. I saw him pitch in my town, Eau Claire. He was on our pitching staff, the gun readings were better than most pitchers, 88 - 90, most were low to mid 80's and I was happy to see him make it this far, but I saw this coming and I hope Teheran don't fall to a similar fate of fading late in the season.

Uh, Strasburg is pretty damn good. Won't argue that they may have some entitled-feeling people on that club.

Wood had an injury-derailed career. Not a ton of just blow your mind seasons. I think Stras could be another Wood, but to say he's not as good as Wood, I don't know.
And I promise I'm not trying to be Giles 2.0. I hate the Nats, but damn.

A lot of pitchers gave up 1 run and struck out 12, but Kershaw is better and it is not close.
Stras a good pitcher, a #1, but I wouldn't trust him to win a game we must win, he would be in the Top 10 and that is it, but I would take several over him and wouldn't blink. He doesn't have that "it" factor like Wood did, or Prior and current pitchers like Verlander, Kershaw, Weaver, Lee. Heck I might give that overweight overrated walrus CC a start over him in a critical game because he proved he has done it.
