one game doesn’t mean much but neither did the first two. calling this lineup “bad” is silly. that 1-4 is flames and can play matchups from there. if Riley or Bae legitimately step up, watch out.

If Riley and Dansby take big steps forward, the lineup is completely different. I'm just not one to count on big developmental leaps like that.

My criticism of the lineup remains. One bad game doesn't confirm it and one good game doesn't disprove it.

I hope I'm wrong. I hope Riley figures it out and Dansby finally realizes his potential. I will gladly eat crow if that happens.

While Contreras has been lucky, I'm really high on him now. The changes he's made to his swing have been super impressive. He's definitely got some development to do but I could see him as our starting catcher at some point next year.

A healthy Ender is probably damn close to a 3 War player. He looked good before going back down last year to injury.

Between Duvall, Ender, and whoever else, I feel fine about our OF.

Riley with his better swing mechanics should increase his exit velocity. I hope last night was evidence of it. Being a year older will help his EV as well.

An EV of 111 is nothing new for Riley, and that’s pretty much what is to expected from 60 grade raw power. His raw is below that of Acuna and JD, so it’s nothing super special.

EV tends to decrease with age.

We know what Riley is by now, and the only question is whether or not the plate discipline and contact issues improve. He is young enough that there is still reason to hope.
