It was extremely naive to believe he suddenly revived a breaking pitch after a couple starts in AAA. I said so at the time.

I wasn’t aware he had completely abandoned the breaking ball until folks started talking about it, but his 2 pitches profile him as a #3/4 or BP arm unless he has impeccable control.

I think more overreacted to his last good start. He got lucky on several hitters. He is basically the same pitcher.

I’m not writing the guy off. There have been some positives. However to turn the corner he needs another pitch to get right handlers out. As is maybe he can be a serviceable back end of the rotation guy.
