GDT 7/28: Lopez and a Sunday Special that would make Bobby Blush

C is definitely not a position of need. Murphy is just fine. He just needs a manager that doesnt platoon him.

I disagree...Murphy has got to completely overhaul his approach and his swing...This going for the downs and being dead pull will only get worse as he ages and his hands slow down...his swing is too violent...

But if you are just glad he's solid defensively, then yes he needs to be starting...but right now, TDA needs to be getting the bulk of the reps.

So, what position do you think is in need? Please don't tell me 'pitcher'. We need to work really hard on keeping what we have. Catcher is a position which needs to be platooned.
So, d'Arnaud does fine being platooned....much better than Murphy but I wouldn't expect him to play everyday either but platooning him doesn't seem to affect him.

A SS would be the biggest position of need in the lineup. We have average or better players at every other position.

You are very strange.

Ok, pretend you are on the stand and under oath.

Would that be the best rotation in the MLB?

He's not strange...He's just gay! Often times one of his little fck buddies will chime in and just weirdly bully you...

I'm not going to dog on Alvarez, but is there a better low-cost option that could be picked up at the deadline to tide us through Albies' absence? Not a huge priority given what else has been--and is continuing--to go down on the injury front, but the margin for error is really thin and having someone to at least take the pressure off of him a couple of games a week might be wise. I think Alvarez has a chance to be a decent major league player, but we are asking for an awful lot from him.

Good win. Dr. Longball made a house call. Sucks for Lopez.

Not C. Murphy is a guy that needs more reps to stay fresh and Snit isnt using him right. SP will be a big need with Fried and Morton gone. LF will probably be a problem to if Kelenic doesnt work out. Amd we will need better bench pieces for depth.

Morton is gone probably but:

Strider
Sale
Lopez
Schell
Fried (they've go to keep him)

then they don't need SP....just get over this year and plan for next

So, you are saying Murphy needs more rep than d'Arnaud who seems to do fine in a platoon position. So, basically, d'Arnaud is the better player?

Fried is a goner. History should tell you that. And yes Snit doesnt know how to manager the C situation. He did a horrible with WC also so they traded him and look what hes doing now in Milwaukee.

Doesn't matter how good his glove is right now. Dude has a 580 OPS. He's one of the worst hitting starters in baseball right now. We need to move on.

This year with the ****ty balls. For his career he’s firmly below average, which you can live with with his glove. Obviously though, if there were a way to upgrade we shouldn’t hesitate.

I'm not saying don't look for an upgrade, but Orlando has been hitting better the last 2 weeks. Might be worth it to see if our ****ty luck has changed. His rate stats are basically the same as last year. He just has a BABIP 40 points lower than last year.

They probably know and its not good news so they are trying to wait until the deadline so they dont look as desperate.

I wouldn't be surprised if they don't play it off like that. Announce it's just arm fatigue and put him on the 10 day. Then announce he's having TJS on August 1.
