GDT 7-29 a time to Smyly.

97 WRC+ last season and 95 this season. At 34 he's likely done being a useful hitter

Not expecting him to be great or anything but I think his contact approach would be steady in the bottom third of our lineup.

For the rest of this year then he would obviously need to bat a little higher.

Surprisingly he has comparable and possibly better numbers on the road than home.

Think he needs a change of scenery and we can hope he gets hot for 2 months this season.

If we only end up paying off his contract then I think it would be a good move. Probably wouldn't even cost a prospect greater than 40FV

I mean Almote has hit better than than Blackmon this year. And Blackmon's options are apparently player options for 22 and 23. He's taking those. Just no.

Blackmon plays a passable outfield and I'm surprised you think this is now Almontes baseline.

Even those options at 9M wouldn't be awful IMO.

Best thing about this season is Riley's development. Braves have really hit on their position prospects recently.

Yes - The prior regime (All remnants of what Cox/JS built) had tremendous drafts and international signings over a 5 year period.

If the Braves make an upgrade on offense it has to be better than a league average bat. Otherwise it's just a lateral move.
