GDT 7-30: Braves at Royals - Game 3

Then we should probably just assume he will do what he's always done
But why? Drafting in the mid-20s range is a whole different ballgame, requiring different strategies. From historical data, the future WAR outlooks drop off dramatically from 1-1, top five, top ten, and so on. It thus often makes sense to hedge bets in the back-third in a way that doesn’t usually make sense at the top.

I’m sure Anthopoulos, Shah, and the team are well-aware of that data.

AA's drafting style is why I'm not to excited about 1-1. If another skenes is there, AA will take an underslot project to try and get the best 4th rounder

Just stop. AA has had two drafts with the Braves where he had top 10 picks. 2018 and 2019.

Braves took Carter at #8 in 2018 and was rated as the 5th best guy in the draft according to fangraphs.

Braves took Langliers at #9 in 2019 and fangraphs had him at #14.

With where the Braves are picking next year there should be a 50 FV or better prospect available and I suspect the Braves will take one of them

best you could do would be to look at his 8th overall pick Cater Stewart and then next years 9th overall pick Shae.. I don't know how those guys ranked when they were picked.

I would agree. picking 20+ is way different than in the top 5..

Can't wait for Carter 2.0

In that draft, there were 2 pitchers in the 1st first didn't sign. JT ginn was the other. He also was a state commit, who ended up going to state

And Allard was drafted 14th. He was only drafted bc he threw 95 one time at the county fair at the bottle busting game
Allard was one of the top-ranked pitchers in his draft, but he had a back injury his senior year and Clark and company decided to go ahead an pick him anyway.

I wonder how much money Carter Stewart has made in Japan and if he has ever considered coming back to the states. He's pitched fairly well over there.

Iglesias coming in to seal the deal.

At this point, this has got to be intentional sabotage by Snit because he's mad he's been forced to retire. It's 24 hours before the deadline and we're a terrible team. There was zero reason to throw Iggy today. Or play Ozuna for the matter. Or anyone AA plans to trade.

Something around 15 million. He signed a two year extension last year worth 10 million. I can't seem to find any stats on him for 2025 so I'm not sure if he's played this year or not.

His numbers look really good but NPB is in a dead ball era so his career 2.9 era over this is a few points higher than the average. He took a gamble and it's literally paid off over there.
