GDT 7/31/22: Braves vs Diamondbacks - Sweepy Sunday

Still think Acuna needs to be dropped down…if that were anyone else they’d be hitting out of the 8 hole.
 
They need someone to get thrown out stealing bases in front of HR hitters, and Acuna is the bet bet to do that. So he hits leadoff.

Oh, and that spot is supposedly the key to him hitting well, despite the fact he sometimes hits poorly there.

Would you criticize him for anything? He clearly loafed after that ball.

Newsflash: you can appreciate a player even while calling a spade a spade

Hard to criticise him on plays like that when the team has explicitly told him to avoid going all out on plays like that.

I’m open to debating whether that directive from the team is ultimately in the collective best interest, though.

That's a fair point.

The bad throw last night followed by seemingly jogging after a catchable ball, makes me wonder if he's truly got his head in these games though. Perhaps his horrid offense this month is wearing on him
