GDT 7/31/22: Braves vs Diamondbacks - Sweepy Sunday

Braves always have insane baserunning things happen against the Diamondbacks. Like the Duvall HR/Single last year,

It would be nice if the umpires weren’t such egomaniacs that they could fix their mistakes.

No…if you disagree with anyone gargling on Acuna’s dick then you deserve criticism…That’s their logic.

Acuna is easily the most selfish player we have the roster. People who say otherwise are absolutely idiotic and been sleeping under a fckn rock. But I don’t think we should just kick him to the curb.
 
Acuna is still smashing the baseball at elite levels. Once he figures out how to elevate the baseball again, he’s going to hit 15 home runs in a month.

He took two full strides before the ball came out of his glove. It’s not like he bobbled, never secured, and dropped.

I think the umpires handled it just fine given the rules as is. They need to be allowed to use discretion to determine what base the runner would have been at. In this case the umpire signaled out, then changed the call when they saw the ball pop out. What’s the baserunner supposed to do in that situation?

Problem is the umpire can force a DP there every time just depending on what he wants to do. If you call it an out and players advance they'll get doubled off. You call it a drop and they stay, same result.

As soon as it was called an out they shouldn't have allowed a DP.
