That is TD 2 of 3 games, will get Murphy tomorrow and then TD gets the start for the day game Wednesday
I'm sure its just keeping Murphy fresh for the long-hall, but does anyone else have any tingling concern that Snit is going to continue to start TD one of every three games in the playoffs? Can just envision TD having a home run last game of the regular season, Murphy having an 0-4 in game one of playoffs and Snit wanting to "ride the hot hand" in game 2.
I know in the regular season it feels like its just "keeping Murphy fresh" but from the start of the year, it took Murphy going for a 1,000+ ops for weeks at a time to ever go more than two in a row (he was borderline the back-up catcher the first week because he went 0-4 in first game of season).
I'd think we'd fix it in the playoffs where its clear he needs to play every day, but we also just witnessed Rosario have an all-time bad season last year and then still start every game of the playoffs.
You act like TDA is some scrub. He has a 120 WRC+ last season and has a 120 WRC+ this season. It's the dog days of summer and keeping Murphy fresh for the playoffs is a great idea. And he's likely to play 2 out of 3 games in the playoffs too. If Murphy was our best hitter with a team full of scrubs you might have a point. But this offense is a juggernaught and it's a non issue to swap TDA and Murphy 25-33% of the time.

Exactly what I was thinking.
But TDA shouldn’t be 2 of 3 in the playoffs. Maybe 1 if 3.
That is exactly my point. Why in the playoffs when you never play more than two days in a row and each game can literally swing your odds of your season ending by 50+%, would we sit Murphy who is still just objectively a better player this year. Sitting an elite player one of every three playoff games sounds like an awful strategy to me.
and that is my concern. For the regular season this is truly an unbelievable asset. I'm just concerned it will triangulate into benching an elite player with our season on the line.

well, we will need to see how the team is looking at that point one. Plus, these decisions will probably come down from the front office not Twit. You could see a possible Ozuna in LF and catcher DH, with Sorryio holding down for LH pinch hitting-- although in that scenario, who does he hit for? you don't replace anyone in our lineup with Sorryio..
It doesn't matter if Rosario is 0 for his last 36 heading into the NLDS. Snit will start him in every game of the LDS just because of the 2021 LCS. Old schoolers like Snit think Rosario will just magically turn on the playoff mode magic he had two years ago. Each and every one of you deep down knows this will be the case unless the front office takes charge and micromanages the games like they did some in 2021.
