I think the Braves can/should go the opener route with Newcomb, which I think would generally yield a quality turn in the rotation. And I still think Wright will ultimately cement his place, despite how quickly his outing fell apart against the Rays.

The biggest question is how the team can fill the spot now vacated by Foltynewicz. I'm excited to see what Toussaint does tomorrow, because I'm still holding out hope he could put it all together; but I think it's just as likely that he never gets his command together, and the Braves end up having to either pull an opener strategy for that slot, too, or else look outside the organization (since it seems like—probably wisely—the FO isn't interested in rushing Anderson to that void).

Not that we have much of a choice right now, but I think we need to give newcomb a few more starts. I was getting pretty annoyed with chip that he kept referencing the 10-pitch AB before newcomb fell apart, but maybe there's something to that. Newcomb was a reliever last year and ST was months ago before the quick one right before season, so he hasn't really been stretched out in a while. I thought he did pretty well till that long AB. I'm certainly not counting on newcomb being a stable in the rotation, but hopefully a start or 2 more could at least make him a guy that gives us 5 innings this season.
