GDT#7, 4/8/'14: Braves (Harang) vs. Mutts (Colon) 7:05 PM EST [HOME OPENER]

I am no expert, but I've always thought this was it in a nutshell. At the risk of starting a conflagration, he is starting to make me think he's Francoeur with better bat speed and a better eye, but he has the same "diving and rolling his wrists" disease.

My uneducated opinion is that his bat doesn't seem to stay in the zone very long. Not compare to earlier in his career. Think he's a bit to herky-jerky

Same swing issues. He will walk more, but I am starting to wonder if that will be the only discernible difference. He's pounding weak grounders to the middle of the infield with the same frequency.

If Francoeur walked as much as Heyward did he would of actually been a good offensive player.

Thethe, you love this bench, huh? Only one pinch hitter has been used tonight and the game is on the line and GeraldLaird steps up to the plate. That's a good bench?

BJ cannot hit a good fastball, so a walk won't work. I hate it that he's batting second. Game over, that was embarrassing.

heyward had no business swinging at that 3-2 pitch. I suspect if he had a normal stance he wouldn't of been tempted to do it. Never seen anyone stand that far back before.

Heyward is our worst hitter in the lineup. That 3-2 pitch he swung at is not defensible at all.

He should be out of the leadoff spot, hell put the pitcher there, they make contact or draw a walk.
