Makes sense. Seems like he destroys young (i.e. bad) lineups like the Pirates and struggles otherwise. Relying on one pitch you have to throw out of the strike zone to be effective would explain that disparity.

I was trying not to fall asleep until he took the mound, and it took an hour to fall asleep after he pitched. Either he's incredibly lucky or sadistic - toys with his opponent and fanbase. In reality, I think he just realizes that he can't straight up challenge guys these days, so he nibbles hoping a guy gets himself out until he absolutely has to challenge a guy.
