GDT 7/5/14 ATL (HARANG) vs. ARI (BOLSINGER) 4:10 ET

If the Braves could get Price for the cost of Peraza and Bethancourt and no others, or with one marginal throw in, I'd do it. Peraza is blocked at SS by Simmons for the foreseeable future. If LaStella continues to play well at 2B he provides us a quality option that could potentially block Peraza as well. The front office is going to have to make a decision on how to handle the Gattis/ Bethancourt situation sooner rather than later. Why not use him for a piece that could help us win a World Series now? If those prospects remain blocked they are going to be dealt at some point anyway.

Peraza isnt blocked.

Freeman-TLS-Simba-Peraza, problem solved.

More like Bethancourt, Sims, Peraza and another prospect.

Price is that much better then Samardzjja and has another year of control.

Both Price and Samardzija are free agents in 2016, according to baseball reference.

If the offer is what you mention above, Wren should either ask for another player coming back, or politely extend his middle finger and end the discussion.

I guess, but to get a guy that young to his third position you have to do a lot of projecting.

The chances of a deal happening are slim to none, but if we can get away with giving away two guys who have adequate to good players in front of them I'd do it.

Agreed. Peraza is a potential fit at third or center. The two weakest positions on the team. We also have to consider the possibility that Jason and/or Justin could be gone after 2015.

Shortstop is the most demanding position. A shortstop with speed can play almost everywhere. There are many major league outfielders/third basemen/second basemen who played short in the minors. BJ Upton was drafted as a SS and played there for a while in the minor.

I would not be too hasty in trading CB. Like what I have seen already. He's younger, more athletic than Gattis and clearly the best catcher we have as far as catching the baseball. Gattis could be the second coming of Bob Horner. Great power but can't stay on the field due to injury, plus his age is already against him. In this case, keep young athleticism over power. I believe CB will hit enough.

I agree with this.

Not to mention Laird is a FA next year, and CB/Gattis is a good catching tandem.

I think we'll keep one of Jason/Justin, probably will lose one though unfortunately

Plenty of players who were at short have played other spots.

I love Price but i dont know if i'd trade the farm for him especially given the contract situations coming up with Jason/Justin since we'll need to use that money for one/both of them.

BJ, Simba, FF, JUp, JH, CJ, TLS, CB, Wood.

Anyone gonna make a thread?

I'm 0-3 in gamethreads this year, no more for me this year
