The homer came on the same fastball in the same location as the previous pitch, easy for a hitter to be looking in that same spot again. The hit to the pitcher was a fastball right down the middle, as was the double after that.

Smith made the same mistake as Fried only he threw that change-up back to back in the same exact location. Riley wisely was guessing for it after seeing him use it so much to get out the other hitters.

Fried is so weird. When he’s on, he’s really on, but his lows are really bad.

I imagine he rights this with experience.
