GDT 7/9/21 - Braves @ Fish - Arcia’s day off

I get they weren't trying to hit him but I also get why Ronald was pissed. What I am sick of is Chip and Jeff/Glavine constantly sticking up for the other team.

Well Chip said the other night Acuna’s 360 spin Clemente-esque throw was a bad throw so there’s that. Losing out on Bally this year has not really been a loss for me. I understand Ronald is tired of it but we can’t lose him. And if every single time is going to get that much of a reaction teams will keep pounding him in.

I don’t think Jeff was. I agree Chip and Glavine can **** off.

Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have included Jeff... he's typically much better. I always loved Glavine as a player but he sucks as an announcer. I also met him when I was a kid twice and he also was kind of rude to fans. Great player, but never loved him personally. Meanwhile... Dave Justice was AWESOME... me and some of my friends just happened to be playing laser tag at Six Flags when him and Halle Berry walked in... they played 3 games of laser tag with us and it was a blast. He loved the fans.

I remember the Braves came to play golf at the neigborhood I grew up in every year (Polo Fields near Cumming, GA)... I asked Smoltz, Glavine, and Maddux for their autographs at the last hole... Maddux and Smoltz gave me an autograph and Glavine told me to catch him at the clubhouse. Went to the clubhouse and security was keeping fans out but saw Glavine and shouted for him... told the security guy he'd never seen me.

Smoltz is the nicest one I ever met. Stayed over an hour late at this event the night of their first game at Turner Field to sign balls for every kid there, including me.

Chipper came to a charity golf tournament in my town when I was in high school and our baseball team was helping out. He was a colossal jerk to all of us.

Never got to meet Chipper, but I heard he could be a jerk

Is it possible the two tweaks to Arcia's swing are real and we have found something? I know its just wishful thinking, but its fun to think about.

Never liked Glavine as an individual, and I never liked watching him pitch. But I appreciated how great he was. Definitely my least favorite of the 90 s core.

Giving Glavine credit where credit is due...he'll forever be etched in my mind for his performance in game six of the 1995 WS.
