GDT 7/9/22: Braves vs Nats - Bring in Exterminator

It's a marathon, not a sprint. We won bc we were better. Hell, Morton got a broke leg

And we won our divisional marathon with 88 wins.

We won our division earlier than the west did with a week to play.

NL West went down to the final game. Not sure why you keep discounting the fact SF and LAD had to kill themselves to advance when we had an easier going with the Mets choking for us and Phillies being mediocre. lol

There was nothing cheap or easy about the LAD/SFG race and series last year. But there was nothing cheap about the boat racing we did on MKE, LAD, HOU. Often the comments on the West race preceed denigrating the Braves worthiness as WS Champs.

Simply put, we got hot at the right time and played about as perfect baseball as you could imagine.

Usually we are the ones watching another team do that to us. So it was shocking to see the breaks go our way and the clutch hits/timely hitting.

We certainly were worthy of winning it all after running the gauntlet of two of the best pitching staffs in all of MLB and the top offense in MLB.

I just don't understand why State keeps scoffing at what happened to the two teams in the West.

Eff the giants... the better team won't that series, and the better team won the nlcs

Because I think on paper LA should have won the NLCS on merit alone…Huge payroll…star power…What truly hurt them was the conditioning of Scherzer and Urias…maybe the others from that staff….They couldn’t go more than 4 because they were exhausted….from pitching just as much innings or starts as our starters.

Of all fans, Braves fans should understand the better overall team doesn’t always win the WS.

Along the same lines, Braves fans should be able to savor finally being the hot team that won the WS.

We were the best when it mattered

We’ll I think we’re good enough we’ll be in position where things could go our way again. I don’t necessarily think we’re better than everyone but we’re one of the best and good enough to beat anyone. If our pitching depth holds and we get production out of left field we might be the best.

The Braves had so much go wrong the first four months of the season and almost certainly would have been much closer to 95 wins last season with healthy Acuna, TDA and Ozuna. The way things came together the last two months was a little more than simply getting hot at the right time. On the other hand, an intact playoff rotation of Scherzer/Buehler/Bauer/Kershaw/Urias would have been almost impossible to beat.
