GDT 8/1/13: Rockies (Bettis) @ Braves (Teheran) 7:10 PM

Alfonseca was cheating using an extra digit.

I remember that one year we signed him and he was atrocious during spring training, but once the season started he was quite good. Never trust spring stats.

And he had been pretty terrible the year before that, so naturally everyone just assumed he was going to stink up the joint.

MLB - Johnson Nears Braves Record
Braves 3B Chris Johnson recorded his seventh straight multi-hit game on Thursday against Colorado. Johnson is now one game shy of the Braves franchise record for consecutive multi-hit games. Three players in club history have recorded eight straight multi-hit games - Hank Aaron in 1959, George Sisler in 1928 and Walter Barbare in 1921.

MULTI HITS

It blows my mind that the Braves won 7 games in a row at the same time as the Cardinals lost 7 in a row.

This is the most fun I've had in a long time as a Brave fan. What the Braves did on this homestand was incredible. I don't care who you play, you run the table in 7 games on a homestand and you've done something, and oh yeah, good luck tomorrow night to Ethan Martin, you will need it.
