GDT: 8/1/14...10:10 PM EST...Braves (No Heyward) vs. Padres

We have said this before.

Yeah. But we're not facing the best team in the league.

Who knows how the season will go. The Braves have their flaws but the Nats do as well. They have lost 4 of 5 to the Phillies and Fish. Those teams suck but we have struggled against them at times as well. That's just the way the East is this year.

We have zero excuse to lose this series, but we've done a good job of it against the Padres in San Diego recently. Luckily enough, the NL East is the one division the Braves can hang in this year. I'm not a believer in Washington.

I may not be either but they're just a little bit better overall than the Braves which is why i think they win the East.

Regards to the Pads series.

Kennedy/Ross is tough, Ross is 6th in ERA in the NL this year and Kennedy is 3rd in the NL in K's.

not exactly a couple of stiffs.

Batting average is no longer a big deal, but I still find it amusing the guy with the lowest there is leading off.

On the other hand, OBP is a pretty big deal and I don't find it amusing that we have the position player with the lowest OBP leading off.

Just curious what you've seen that makes you think this?

Is something wrong w/ our defensive scouting?

Lots of regular speed ground balls are getting through this week.
