GDT 8-10-18 NIGHT OF THE LIVING GAUSMAN

Folks around here have been clamoring for Archer for years now. Had they gotten their way, he would have pitched well for a losing team and then declined just in time to pitch for a competitive team.

Sound familiar?

Good thing the FO agreed with the intelli Braves around here who continued to say it would be foolish to trade for Archer.

Around that time I was clamoring to trade Julio. I’ve never been big on getting Archer unless it was a Gausman type deal...which of course would never happen. I don’t have anything him...he’s just not a #1 (but Tampa wanted that kind of haul).

Pretty much a second day off for the important pen arms as long as this big lead holds. Huge.

if there is a theme to the Gausman, Brach and Duvall moves it is that each player was having an off year relative to a solid multi year baseline...tells me AA might weight the most recent half season of data a bit less than other GMs

I really like AA’s decisions so far. Duvall hasn’t done anything, but you have to think he’ll snap out of it and still a good pickup.

Upgraded the team without damaging the farm, what's not to like?

I think it’s fair to criticize AA for allowing Flaherty to remain on the roster after the deadline.

I agree with that, hopefully he finds someone to upgrade over him before the end of the month, big hole..
