GDT- 8/11/18- THE NIGHT OF THE ATTACK OF THE DUVALL

Acuna is insane. Just take all of the monies and give it to him. Stop selling tickets to games and just have Acuna stand at the gate and demand random amounts of monies from people to get in.

He's great as is, but imagine if that k rate got to around 20-21. Hopefully he can start to cut the Ks down with experience

Culberson should have started tonight as he matches up well against this type of pitcher. Plus he has hit him in the past albeit in a small sample. But nothing surprises me with Snit after he sat Camargo vs Gonzalez when Camargo was hitting .500 against him including a homer. This was in 14 AB's but I remember many of these games and he could've went 10-14 against him. Camargo really seemed to own him yet he sat in that game. Plus Snit keeps using RF to pinch hit late in games even when he has Duvall and others better. He has did this in the 8th inning the last two games. That Nats game could've went differently had that late inning started with a better hitter. I know this is where the Snit defenders come in saying it's AA's fault he is on the team. But the fact is AA improved the bench enough to where he shouldn't even still be a factor outside of games that go extra innings where he is the last pinch hitter used. Snit managed that very winnable game like a throw away game to save his pen after Sanchez went down.

It's OT, but once Anibal was lost, the margin of error was very thin. I'm no Snitker defender, but your only choice based off what was done in games prior was:

Biddle for three
Venters for one
Brach for two
Minter to save, if it worked out.

It's relying on every pitcher being on, which is risky and if it doesn't work out, you've probably lost Biddle until Sunday this weekend which is a blow in a series you expect to be close. In retrospective, if it was known Gausman was going to kill it and the offense was going to absolutely go off in game 1 vs Milwaukee, maybe this plan I highlighted should have been attempted. If it were the playoffs it would have been irritating if that plan or similar wasn't done.

Also in retrospective, maybe if you don't use the middle relievers in a game that was a 5 run game, although the Nationals were hitting the ball well and threatening to make it closer all game, maybe you have more options than the 4 I highlighted.

I hesitate to even breathe such blasphemy, but Ron Jr. is miles ahead of Andruw at the same age/experience level.

Miles ahead? Andruw at age 20 put up 3.7 fWAR

ETA... they mainly just putting value oppositely. Andruw with defense and Acuna with bat

No argument there. Andruw was even farther ahead defensively though. Of course, andruw was better than everyone

I guess I thought it would go without saying that I meant at the plate. I don’t expect to see another CF like AJ for a while.

Can someone send me tickets to Atlanta so I can beat the schit out of Julio Teheran?

He pitches scared, all the time. He is going to give me a heart attack.
