GDT 8/11- the Touki in the Bronx

Did Chip call him “Mark” Gardner?

Edit: He did it twice, actually.

Yankees:

DJL (R)
Judge (R)
Hicks (S, though better as LHH)
Voit (R)
Torres (R)
Ford (L)
Urshela (R)
Sanchez (R)
Gardner (L)

So the plan should be:

- Allow Touki to spin the order once, unless it's a 5-4 game after 2 innings at which point he may not face Gardner even once.
- If pitch count is ~50ish, allow him to face DJ and Judge a 2nd time.
- Be ready to flip Hicks around in a high leverage spot, leave Touki in otherwise.
- If Touki is allowed to face Hicks, he is the guy to face Voit and Torres.
- Be ready to bring in a LHP to face Ford, this is probably where Touki should most likely exit.
- If Touki is allowed to face Ford, he is the guy to face Urshela and Sanchez a 2nd time.
- Be ready to bring in a LHP to face Gardner...barring a masterful performance, Touki probably doesn't get to face him a 2nd time.
- There is probably no realistic scenario where Touki should be allowed to face DJ and Judge a 3rd time, and under no circumstances does he face Hicks 3 times.

I see no reason Touki can't make it through Torres. He is throwing well.
