GDT 8/11- the Touki in the Bronx

I mean, we already knew what Wilson was. 93-95 from a RHP simply isn't that special.

Interested to see the data on that upper 80s slider though.

I thought Touki made some more progress tonight in spite of our putrid defense.
Wilson still has no secondary stuff to go along with that fastball and imo is nothing more then an innings filler.
Hope I’m proved wrong about him but I just don’t see him ever being more then a AAAA guy and someone we should of packaged along for a veteran pitcher.

Not trying to pile on Wilson, but this is all too familiar with him. I see nothing but a FB. Straight as an arrow and goes a long way (Judges homers tend to). I don't even know about short stints for him anymore. He made it before more heralded prospects so there's that.

If Wright, Touki or Wilson end up sticking...the experience they get this year will pay huge dividends next year.

I think you are kidding yourself. This isn’t Touki’s first rodeo. He’s been on the major league club long enough for us to realize he sucks. Wilson is awful too..:Wright has the most potential.

Has Touki even had 10 starts in the bigs yet? There's some major risk with him (specifically command) but I'd hold off on calling him a bust specifically because having pitchers in the bullpen doesn't work for everyone. In fact, if y'all are right, defense was a problem in the inning I missed.

He and Wright are about in the same camp, there's still some time to watch and see here. Wilson, I feel meh about.

Apparently the Braves do too, as he's not stretched out to go longer than 2 or 3 innings. Either this or next inning will be his last.
