GDT 8/12/22: Braves @ Fish - Time to Eat

These breaks are precisely why Odorizzi was acquired. This is how a loose 6 man rotation works, and is exactly how I expected these pitchers to be used.

Another example of Snit's good coaching:

Frieds arm is getting a breather to so the arms should be a little fresh for the playoffs. So Fried and Wright will miss the Mets series?

Hope the reports are true and its no major thing for Wright... but I'm excited to see Muller after what appears to be phenomenal growth at AAA

His velo was down in his last start right? Might be good to shut him down for 10 days. Gonna need him

Yup. No problem getting guys one 2 week vacation this time of the year.

Hopefully we can do that or full 6 man will do the trick rest of the way.

It is Friday. Rosario's xwOBA beginning from every Friday since he came back from the DL.

Since 7/15: .250
Since 7/22: .265
Since 7/29: .286
Since 8/5: .257

The bulk of all these PAs has come vs RHP. While he has been getting better, no start date results in even average expected production.

I wish AA had gotten a better OFer at the deadline.

where do you find xwOBA broken down by month like this?

On baseball savant’s statcast search you can adjust the “Game Date >=“ field. I just clicked through the Fridays since he returned to get his numbers from that Friday through the current day.

There’s also a “Game Date <=“ field so you can set any range you want. You have to be very precise to find any date range Rosario has been anything close to effective.

one of the things AA hasn’t gotten enough credit for tbh is how effectively he’s done that. When they had the 10 day IL and he was shuttling guys back and forth especially.

Agreed. And really haven't seen other teams doing the same. Aside from a few of the smart organizations
