GDT 8/14/20 - Fillet the Fish

We can gripe about hitting all we want, but not one darn thing will change until other starters besides Max goes deeper into games. Absolutely pathetic we can’t get more than three innings it seems like from four of the starters.

I think I know the Braves #1 priority after the season

We only have 3 starters on the roster currently.

Coppys obsession with pitching rebuild has left us with 0 pitching depth and zero offensive players.

Thank goodness for Frank Wren

Snitker called this the worst game the team had played in two years. Gotta agree. The number of mistakes the Braves made was ridiculous.

Also, Kyle Wright pretty much acknowledged what Enscheff was saying. Said he can't change his approach second time through nthe lineup and that he needs to keep attacking hitters.

I can’t say “Wright will be fine”, because many pitchers have never “learned how to pitch” (I hate that cliche when it’s misused), but he has all the tools to be a very valuable middle of the rotation anchor.

Why he thought it was ok to throw slider after slider even when guys knew it was coming is beyond me.

Why he felt the need to change his game plan against hitters who only saw 1-2 pitches from him in their first PA is beyond me.

Why he would throw 14 straight breaking balls with questionable control, and then lose command of the fastball as a result is beyond me.

I’m not sure who’s responsible for coming up with stuff like this, but they need to do a better job with Wright.

Thought I was watching the Touki start from a couple back all over again. Maybe it's by design - hoping that they'll learn on their own that if they keep trying to "trick people" they're going to get killed at this level.
