Most people around here said he sucks though
Well he “did” suck when he was here. Don’t think he was great in Cincy either.

Melançon disagrees and puts Cy's streak to bed, thankfully.
Melancon is not exciting and gives up a few hits, but he usually is pretty consistent. He’s been better as a closer than I thought he would be.
2.1 fWAR in 26 starts is not sucking
Well, he had a good stretch, but then he imploded the next year. Kinda like Folty...his bad stretch was so bad, he was DFA’d. He always had the stuff.
He had bad results which resulted in a ballooned ERA. A super high BABIP and super low LOB% will do that.

A pitcher who was mediocre here went elsewhere and improved? That’s wild.

Fried looking pretty good. I guess he is the ace now. Looking forward to his one and only start in game 2 of the playoffs.

Didn't your analysis of fried show a pretty bad fastball? Just wondering how good secondary stuff has to be to overcome that?
