No. He really was an insufferable old fool. Still probably is, but Chip has a tendency to bring out the worst in his fellow broadcasters. That should show you just how bad Chip is at his job.

His rapport with Ben Ingram is much better. Chip, god bless him, comments way too much on the state of the game which leans into Joe’s worst impulses.

If you get past Joe’s curmudgeon side he’s fairly knowledgeable and well spoken.

He had to try something new. He's already used up the number of times he can be thrown out at second base by Mets catchers.

Honestly, I used to love Skip and Joe together. Joe could actually match Skip’s wit at times.
 
Nice play by grossman. If he’s willing to play for a championship team for 5m a year I’d take him back in a heartbeat.
