GDT: 8/19: Braves vs San Fran - Soggy Cheerios

Giants had one of the best pitchers in the game going for them tonight and we had one of the worst in the game going for us. The fact we're only down by 1 is pretty telling of the differences between the two lineups.

Arcia has usually been pretty streaky in his career. Hasn't had a ton of cold streaks this year. He was due for a really, really bad stretch.

He had a bad one back in July. Then followed it up with a ridiculous stretch. That gives me hope he won’t competently sink.

Please God let us get them in divisional round

He shouldn't completely tank. He was due some hard regression. He's been outperforming his expected stats all year while the expected stats were right in line with his projections for the year.

He should settle no worse than a .740ish OPS.

It has to be nearly impossible to hit a guy (in your first time seeing him) whose release point is a foot off the ground.

Rosario, however, didn't seem to find it terribly difficult. I guess the shame was we wasted a pinch runner.
