#Braves expect to activate B.J. Upton this weekend, likely Saturday. Rehabbing again tonight w/ Triple-A Gwinnett.

#Braves Schafer also at Gwinnett, but Fredi said he'd just work out there tonight and start rehab stint Saturday.

The Braves next 17 games are divisional games (6 Phillies, 6 Nationals, 3 Marlins, 2 Mets). Braves will put those teams out of their misery.

Chris Johnson's current 10-game hitting streak. .475/.512/.550 (1.062). He has raised his average from .328 to .346.

The Braves 1.5 games behind the Pirates for the best record in baseball. With the way the Braves have played against the NL Central (15-8) this season compared to the NL West (18-12), that could be huge. If they can get the #1 seed and play the NL Central WC winner I like our chances better of at least making it to the NLCS where having HFA would be huge in allowing us a chance to make the WS. Also the Braves have done well against the 3 NL Central playoff contenders going 4-3 against both the Pirates and Reds and 3-0 so far against the Cardinals. The Braves swept home series against the Pirates and Cardinals and won 2 of 3 on the road in Cincinnati.

Chris Johnson has a chance to make history tonight and become just the 4th Braves player ever with 8 straight multi-hit games. The others to do it were Hank Aaron in 1959, George Sisler in 1928 and Walter Barbare in 1921.

Just when I thought ESPN's raging hard on for the Nats couldn't get any thicker, one of the Sportscenter anchors provides this gem:

(On the Home Depot Tool Race at Turner Field that was featured in a highlight) "That's just a rip-off of the President's Race in Washington is what that is."

No, actually they have been doing that long before the Nationals were even thought of, and if anything it's a rip-off of the Milwaukee Sausage Race.

If anything, the Milwaukee Sausage Race is a ripoff of the Olympic Marathon.

Good to see Gattis on the bench where thethe Gonzalez can keep a better eye on him.

"Gatty, loosen up. I might need to get you in there. Maybe start with some lunges or squats. Don't want you to pull a hammy."

"Skip, it's the first inning."

Our bullpen could be INSANE next year when you think about the possible returning talent.

I think EOF is gone and JV is a crap shoot but I agree. One thing I will never worry about with the FO we have now is the bullpen

I think there's a slight chance EOF could sign a 1 year deal with us to re-establish his value but as a reliever he has to take any multi-year contract he is offered.

Like the lineup. Looks like BJ will be activated possibly tomorrow. Where do you think he bats in the lineup? I think he takes Terdo's spot and if he is hitting well could move higher up.

Hopefully Fredi leaves the top of the lineup the same. I'm thinking he hits 7th.

It's a downgrade to the line-up to replace Gattis with BJ. But it's even worse having strikeout kings Uggla and BJ back-to-back. When they bat back-to-back they kill rallies. They must be seperated at the very least. BJ could improve but he's still a free swinger that will strikeout a lot.

I'm surely not looking forward to downgrading the line-up just before a big series vs the Nats.
