GDT 8/20 Braves @ Pirates: Wood vs. Cole

Why I dislike Fredi as a manager?

1. If we score 5 or more runs and the other team only scores 2, he doesn't have to pull a Homer Simpson (Insert Brain here gif).
2. When we score only 1 or 2 runs and leading, he goes into full Homer Simpson mode of being a total freaking idiot. He cannot manage worth a freaking lick in close games.

Neither could Bobby...have more rings if he could.

He panics, just like Hudson said.

Here's my opinion on the play...

1. NO fly ball should ever be dropped at the professional level.

Ever since B.J became a Brave two years ago I've noticed that he never bust his a$$ to go after a ball, whether it be a ball in the gap, a ball hit over his head, or a ball he misplays and rolls to the wall. Justin isn't a very good defender either but B.J is far and away the superior defender of the two. The golden rule of the outfield is that if the CF can get to the ball then he should take it every time. B.J has got to go get that ball tonight, and had he started running hard as soon as the ball was hit he would have been able to camp underneath it.

You would think with the way B.J has swung the bat this year (and last) he would be busting his a$$ on defense to find a way to help his team which contrary to tonight's play is in the middle of a pennant race. Regardless, no matter what.. that ball has got to be caught.

AFter the game, he can always look at that fat ass check Wren gave him and smile while giving a middle finger to all of us " I am getting paid bitches, hate all you want"

I swear bLowe, Kawakamakazi, Hampton the Hurt All the Time, strUggla, Upton, all big money people we spent on, FLAMERS, all of them.

"Where high price free agents go to die!" should be our motto.

That was 100% on Justin. I know everyone wants to blame the crappy Upton but he's calling for the ball the whole way and at the last minute gets out of the way or would collide with Justin. And Justin just flat out drops the ball.

Did he hear him?

Did Justin say anything about distraction?

Be careful. It's hurts people's feelings around here to point out someone not hustling.

With the distance he traveled he has to have a sense even if he didn't hear BJ that BJ would be coming up on him. He could also look over and see. Plus he flat out dropped the ball.

The game I followed Wood gave up a leadoff walk - hung an 0-2 curveball and left the set up man with a 2nd and 3rd with no out of a 2-0 game.

Wood said as much.
Young players make those mistakes. Can't wait to watch the rest of his career.
No scapegoats - lost a tough game after winning 5 in a row. Get um in Cincy
