For Lee it's becuase rosters expand in 10 days and these games are meaningless. For Soroka they want to gain another year of service time. And again, these games are virtually meaningless.

If nothing else Hand should have been ready. You don’t have to manage like a playoff game to make simple moves.

Since we have such a big lead, I think it makes sense to keep reliever depth in the organization and keep Lee down. Like, if we don't have to cut McHugh, he could still figure something out before the end of the year and make the playoff roster. Or if someone goes down, it sorts itself out, and there's a better replacement available.

Same somewhat applies with Chirinos/Soroka and service time. We've seen Soroka and the results really aren't dramatically different from what Chirinos gives us no matter how much we want them to be. Winans has looked better, but who knows if it's sustainable.

I didn’t mind Kirby with less than 2 outs because he has the best chance of getting a strikeout. But once we got the 2nd out and Joc pinched hit, it would have been nice to use Hand.

No, he is supposed to manage the game competently. He is supposed to manage every game competently. Hand was acquired for this exact moment.

And stop acting like he wouldn’t have made the same mistake in the playoffs line he routinely does. He makes the same mistakes regardless of what month it is. Luckily AA has assembled so much talent it usually doesn’t matter.
