Seems a little strange if they are mailing it in with Dave Martinez as their manager. Martinez seems to be highly regarded but adversity can bring out the worst in some folks/teams.

He appears to have lost the team. Maybe Martinez will turn out to be a great manager, but just because someone is highly-regarded as a coach or minor league manager doesn't mean they will succeed at the big-league level. Eddie Haas racked up some impressive minor league records managing some of the Braves' minor league teams and there was some optimism when he took over for Joe Torre. Haas didn't last the whole 1985 season.
