I think this move should make it pretty clear on what the Braves are trying to do with Soroka. That said, Soroka just pitched and $hitster got shelled 4-5 days ago I believe.. so this is probably mop up duty role until that 5th spot is needed. then I don't know who they bring up if Soroka needs to stay down until Sept something.
Another way to control him would to bring him up Sept 1st.. then keep him down the first week of next year.
Or just sign him to a super team friendly deal with some club options at the end since we all know he will become an ace again next year.
