GDT 8/22/19: The Final Fish Fry of 2019

Nice win, but this lineup doesn’t instill much confidence heading into the NL East gauntlet.

Joyce has been better starting than Markakis who only had a .700 ops since the break. But losing inciarte and Mac hurts as both ortega and flowers are downgrades on offense.

Well, I guess the Marlins are going to throw at Acuna again.

How lucky are we this season that Hechavarria comes in and puts up a 1.000 OPS while filling in?

Apparently, ‘76 isn’t fielding questions about why it made sense to pinch run Hamilton for Hech at 2nd base.

i didn't say you try to score him from second on a fly ball, i said that he can do that as he did not long ago with the royals. That said, I'd had Ortega bunt Hamilton to third. Then any ground ball or fly ball likely scores him.

Or after Ortega failed to move him to third, you could have had him steal 3rd and then Charlie’s fly ball wins it.

You’re making a lot of assumptions regarding various potential outcomes

The Nats and Mets are playing great baseball right now, but not gaining any ground. The NL East is an awfully tough division right now.

apparently Hamilton isn't fast enough to score on that fly ball anymore, lol. He must not be fast enough to steal bases either. Oh well.

I am happy for Acuna, his clutch two out hit saved snit from having to answer questions about not using the weapon AA gave him that could've won that a batter earlier.

Hech has great speed and is our best SS. I see the logic in using Hamilton, but keeping Hech is more than defensible.

Everyone remembers Hamilton scoring on the pop out to second with the Reds, here he scores from second on fly ball to CF with the Royals.

Hech 27.2 sprint speed is actually behind Austin Riley on the Braves. Hamilton is the best of course on the team while Acuna is not far behind.
