Looking at the videos that are all over social media, especially in X (the former Twitter), looks like the fans may not have had bad intentions. Looks like they wanted a hug. Maybe they just wanted to be next to him and, as creepy as this sounds, actually touch him in an admiring way.

That is not an excuse though. You just don’t run on the field and go towards a player. Plus, you don’t know what the player might do. These are athletes after all. Acuna or someone else could have been like Mike Curtis did way back when.
