Braves starting pitchers have a 2.97 ERA over 20 games dating back to Aug. 10. Newcomb has a 8.38 ERA in four starts during this stretch. Atlanta's other starters have a combined 1.94 ERA.

Newcomb: 4 IP, 8 H, 6 R/ER, 2 BB, 7 K. He has now allowed at least five earned runs in six of his past 14 starts, including three of his past four. If the Braves reach the playoffs, it will be interesting to see who might follow Folty and Gausman.

I kinda think we might be running with a 6 man rotation for a few weeks starting Sunday, and laugh and chuckle but while it shouldn't be that bad, Newcomb has been unplayable on normal rest and much better on more.
He should be skipped though this time. Maybe start Touki Sunday and Fried in his spot.
So has Newk's season been ruined by Snitker letting him try to go the distance for the no-hitter?
