GDT: 8-3-13 Braves at Phillies (BJ Activated, Jason Sits)

I won't necessarily blame Gattis but, so far, I don't like the Gattis-Beachy battery at all. When the Philthies do get a big hit, the "wild pitch", throwing error, etc. help put too many guys on base.

Hope they come back again. But I'm out; just cannot enjoy watching Beachy and Gattis struggle right now. Still way early but hope Beachy is the answer within the next month...!

Yeah, because that's what we're doing.

Everyone thought he would come in and really help the rotation out. He is a risk, but it was worth it before injuries. We had options and now we are going to have to rely on Maholm or Beachy.

Braves are up 11.5 games. Beachy has plenty of time to rediscover his old form.

You are being way to reactionary right now. Let the season play out.

I agree about Beachy. But the bullpen is going to feel it. That isn't a good thing.

No, it sounds like YOU set your expectations too high. And what thethe said, this is the perfect time to introduce him back into the rotation.

That is certainly a risk. I'm an overly optimistic person when it comes to the Braves. But, with the big lead Gonzalez will have more room to stick with these guys even if they let up runs. I don't think its going to be as much of a drain as you think.

You can throw Wood out there and push him, even if he is getting hit around a bit. You can't do that to Beachy (please don't!). And we are still a couple starting pitchers under the total used last year (and the league average). At this point, we can certainly limp into the playoffs, but I would like to see the team compete once they get there.

Um no. I was one of the people who wanted to add a starter before the deadline. Try again.
