GDT: 8-3-13 Braves at Phillies (BJ Activated, Jason Sits)

I just dont think Norris is that good.

Norris has been stuck on one of the worst teams in baseball in recent years. He's managed to still be a better than average starter. With him on Baltimore his numbers are only going to get better. I fully expect him to win at least six games, strikeout 70, and have a 3.50 ERA.

Beachy's stuff and command hasnt come all the way back yet, not even close. That happens after TJ surgery sometimes., I just hope it does come back and this is not the stuff he has going forward. Would be a huge boost.

Maholm isn't coming back next season. Hudson could be finished for his career. Norris wouldn't have just been a rental in my opinion. He could have been in the rotation moving forward.

Well, next year we could have Minor, Julio, Wood, Beachy.

If Mac gets a huge deal elsewhere, we could dip into the FA market for a starter.

Beachy prior to getting hurt was pitching like a 2-3.

I wanted Lohse of the pitchers out there but that didn't happen. Norris isn't much of an upgrade over our current starters.

I dont . his K rate is down. I dont expect him to be under 4 the Baltimore.

Don't particularly care for Norris. Wanted Lohse before the season started. Shame we could've had him for as cheap as 11 per. But yeah, all things considered, I would've traded Hursh and Martin for Norris.

Except we didn't have 11 million to spend.

And there is no way I give up Martin and Hursh for Norris who isn't much of an upgrade over our current starters.

That's fair. I agree there weren't any huge difference makers who were "available," but I would have rather had another option this season and going into next season.

I would too but outside of Garza, none of the starters are huge difference makers.
