GDT 8/3 Braves (Sanchez) @ Mets (deGrom)

I'm fairly sure the thing going on with pitchers hitting, is there's most likely just so many bad moments that people interpret the bad as "braves suck at getting all pitchers out". .099 is above average, but people are remembering the Clayton Kershaw game where he had a perfect game at the plate, Scherzer getting an RBI hit vs Folty, Scherzer getting a single and scoring the game winning run in a game where the Braves tossed a chance to sweep the Nationals in the trash, things like that. Because the non hits are just not remembered.

I actually think that might be a little higher now, tbh.

3rd time through the order, Sanchez has retired 9 in a row...something's gotta give, let's see if he can craft his way through another inning or two

Human minds remember outliers better. One of our many biases.

Acuna has the occasional bad at bat in certain situations, but for the most part he has been incredible as a 20 year old rookie. Do you know how rare it is for a 20 year old rookie to be bouncing around an .850 OPS this late in the year? He is an incredible player and we are really lucky to have him.

Since 1939 (Ted Williams rookie season) Acuna's currenet 127 WRC+ would rank him 13th best as a 20 year old

Sanchez continues to really surprise and impress me. He has been a great addition to the team. Just hope that he continues to pitch well for us

ummmm...if I'm not mistaken, Anibal just K'd the side in the 6th. And the last pitch was the 68mph eephus... nothing like velo!

Got him with that slow change-up, good game Sanchez again. Once he got in trouble he broke out the slow stuff and it continues to work for him for the most part.

Great outing by Sanchez. He's probably done, but went toe to toe with DeGrom.

Up to the pen and offense to take this one home.

our bench is better but looks who is on deck, he should be only used in extras if you run out of good pinch hitters
