Hopefully Gausman has a better debut for us than Archer had for the Pirates, he gave up 5 runs (4 ER) in 4.1 and actually could've gave up more.

I noted it before, the pen when healthy if Viz comes back is pretty strong.

Viz, Winkler, Brach, Carle from RH, Biddle, Minter, Venters from LH, good mix/match combos.

If Viz doesnt come back, we probably need to trade for a RP at the waiver deadline.

The way Archer is pitching no way I beat what the Pirates gave up, assuming it's true that third player is good too as reported. I liked Archer a lot more a few years ago, but last two counting this season he hasn't been the same pitcher.

Not to be dick, but the Mets lineup is absolutely god awful. That's not to say beating deGromm still isn't impressive, or that our pen isn't much improved. But, beating bad teams is something you have to do if you're going to be a playoff team.

We haven’t really done such a good job taking out the trash, so these last few days have been a relief.

A few years ago I wanted Archer a lot more than I did this time around. This time around I thought he would cost too much for the results he's putting up now. The Gausman deal I liked because we only gave up one low level minor league prospect I liked and taking on O'Day's contract is worth it since O'Day is a good pitcher when healthy. O'Day could be a real good piece next year despite his contract.
